Remember when it all began? 35 out of 100
If you grew up with the William Shatner original on telly - you will love this. Refreshing to watch sci-fi and be more interested in the characters than the special effects. The trainee enterprise crew were marvellous. they may not have looked like the originals but their characterizations were spot on. A truly enjoyable splurge of nostalgia. My two teenagers quite enjoyed it but they have been raised on Alien and Predator. Not that type of film.

Absolutely brilliant: 40 out of 100
Being a former treky I was not expecting love this one so much. Was surprised to see that one doesn't need have seen previous star strek movies or series to enjoy this one. Great all out action and humour. Thouroughly loved every minute of it!

Saw this in the cinema was'nt sure second time round and you see all the small things that the original characters had i am a star trek fan and this is the closest thing to the original that you will get but with all the modern special effects that do star trek justice brillant sci-fi movie top notch

Pretty cool considering it's been done a lot.... 40 out of 100
I am a Star Trek Fan but prefer the older versions ie the original and the next generation. This was cool, slick, not too over-done and the story was engaging and fast-paced. Would recommend as a good action movie for a weekend night in. Great casting for Kirk & Spock especially :-)

It's Star Trek what were you expecting 45 out of 100
I enjoyed this because I enjoy Star Trek. Would this film convert you? No! But it's is fast and interesting enough to hold you and keep you riveted. A good night in.

I must admit it was a very well made film, my only gripe was the star trek failing of the "time Travel" theme.. which sometimes ruins a show/movie, however this time I really enjoyed it!

Surprisingly Excellent 45 out of 100
I'll admit used used to watch Star Trek: The Next Generation when I was younger but I was never really a Trekky. My wife hated Star Trek mostly because her sister was a Trekky. Both of us found this very entertaining and enjoyable. It does the action scenes very well and the whole film is peppered with comic moments, mostly taking the mick out of the whole camp history of Star Trek as well as taking the mick out of itself. I'm not a trekkie. I find Star Trek boring (I'm sorry for that trekkies, it's merely a matter of taste). I loved this movie. therefore: - if you are a trekkie I don't think you'll like it - if, like me, you are not, it's a good mix of action and action

well call it the trekkie in me but this is one of the better renditions of star trek and it spins offs for some time. good all round viewing and a great appearance from simon pegg who was completely OTT as Scottie in a Hot fuzz kind of way.

good blockbuster, but a poor sci-fi 25 out of 100
I felt that in terms of a blockbuster it was very good with the special effects and set pieces very good, but as a film in general i thought it was poor. The plot was thin and the bad guy was pretty poor. I was disappointed

Feels familiar-looks awesome! 45 out of 100
Bringing the classic series bang up to date, this is a great action movie that not only pays homage to the original series and it's characters but also brings it to a completely new generation (sic) of viewers that will have them rivetted to the screen. I just hope that the producers/directors are able to carry on the quality over the next few films.

This is just wonderful! We get to see Kirk and Spock growing up, meeting and going boldly into the future. Wonderful cast,effects and storyline. Great to see Eric Bana playing a baddy for once.
