Synopsis:Director Clint Eastwood delves into the mysterious world of the Hereafter with this ensemble supernatural drama starring Matt Damon, Cecile De France, Jay Mohr, and Bryce Dallas Howard. In the wake of a near-death experience during a powerful tsunami, French television reporter Marie (De France) takes her married lover's advice to pen the political book she has always talked about writing. As hard as Marie tries to stay focused on the task at hand, however, she repeatedly finds her attention diverted to scientists who have been stigmatized for investigating the afterlife. Meanwhile, in America, reluctant psychic George (Matt Damon) struggles in vain to cease using his powers for profit while falling for a gorgeous stranger (Bryce Dallas Howard). All the while, his greedy brother (Jay Mohr) prods him to milk his ability for all it's worth. Over in London, a pair of inseparable twins is forcibly parted by tragedy when one of them dies suddenly. The harder the more introverted surviving twin (Frankie McLaren) attempts to reach out to his deceased brother in the afterlife, the deeper his mom sinks into heroin addiction. When his mother goes into rehab, the grieving boy is placed in foster care, and begins succumbing to his corrosive ennui.

Slow moving plot. An average movie - bit disappointing considering Clint Eastwood directed it and it stars Matt Damon!

This film had an opportunity to be a classic but lost it in the long drawn out conclusion which also turned into a total anti climax ....Eastwood just cannot get it right

Slow moving, touching story 30 out of 100
Ok there is 3 storylines, the french one I had no idea what was going on, subtitles were only for half of the conversations that were happening and it seemed like they couldn't be bothered to let us know what was happening. The story of the boy was the best part of it so touching and heartbreaking. The story of Matt Damon was quirky and a little strange. In the end it is a very slow moving movie, not for people who like a lot of action, if you want a nice slow moving touching story that you need to concentrate on then it is for you.

Very slow film, very disappointed. Thought with Matt Damon starring that it would be good, but although the story line was a good one,it was all very slow,and made it very easy to lose interest.

If you're waiting for something to happen in this film don't bother because it wont.u'd be better off going out to feed the cat.

Overlong and ultimately unfulfilling 25 out of 100
At over 2 hours, not enough happens here to keep your interest. While the premise is decent enough, the delivery is just too slow.
