Watch it for that one scene. 35 out of 100
Bleak Si-fi about a big brother tomorrow looking at extinction. Follow Owen around and watch out for the long one take scenes. -Fantastic for them alone.

Yes, it's grim and it's violent, but it's a great story and the leads are very strong. Clive Owen is as ever excellent. Very current, and yet I think it will age extremely well.

Good film, very dark and a bit depressing. Intresting idea and definitly worth a look. I don't think Clive Owen can smile, it might be what stopped him getting the Bond role.

Excellent up to the last 5 minutes 35 out of 100
Very interesting concept for a film, all the actors play their parts brilliantly, although Clive Owens haunted, unshaven good guy is getting a bit samey now. The action sequences are filmed in a documentary style, shakey camerawork and all, which adds realism to the whole proceedings. I didn't like the ending at all, very obvious and safe, felt it was a bit of a sell-out. But all in all a very good film.

This is a dark and totally depressing film. I watched it until the end, but I'm not sure how I even managed that. It was hard to work out what was happening, why it was happening and whether to care whether it was happening. If you like dark films with bad acting, go for it but otherwise steer clear!

A world with no children 30 out of 100
Based on a novel by P D James this is an interesting look at England where there are no children for 20 years. An England with a totalitarian regime. What happens when one woman becomes pregnant? And when one man finds himself at odds with the world he's living in.

Good mix of sci-fi and thriller 35 out of 100
A film with an excellent premise, but obviously only one angle to it can be explored in the film. This is well made and well shot, with a number of very striking scenes. A good blend of sci-fi and thriller, it features a strong performance from Michael Caine, although Julianne Moore is underused.

Harrowing thought what the future might become. Really enjoyed this film even if its perhaps a little unbelieveable with it being so close into the future, or maybe the filmmakers are trying to get the point across that unless we make changes now that it could be our future that will be affected and not generations from now. Excellent film though, even if a little disappointed by its ending. Great performances from Owen & Caine and watch out for the super war scene.

Good idea - badly executed 10 out of 100
I don't like clive owen - he is the worst thing about sin city but I liked the premise of this film. But all you need to know about it is in the extras where they discuss the technical aspect of shooting uninterrupted in an action scene. Sure enough if you are a cinematographer it would be worth watching but the story that wraps around is half baked.

Actor wise I would've liked to see a bigger role by Julian Moore and Michael Caine, by far they outshone Clive Owen. Regardless the action scenes are good and the futuristic environment is believable. The ending hangs - this is more emphasised because it is filmed in a action/thriller fashion at parts and these types of films need a very definite ending. The supposed 'good' ending is elusive and ruins the momentum leading up to it. So, I would describe it as more of a drama than action genre.

Thought the idea behind it was good, but think they did a very bad job of incorporating it into a film. Simply too violent, bloody and not enough story line. All in all, have to say it was pretty disappointing.

Although a little disappointed but still enjoyed watching it but I expected much more. Nothing new that includes the plot very predicable, saw that a mile away. I don't understand why the majority is giving this 4 or 5 stars. Average film and plot + Average acting = Average movie 2/3 stars.

British Sci-Fi done good. 40 out of 100
A very original sci-fi experience in my view. The always good Owen plays the everyman who is required to be a hero....reluctantly. The visual style adds vey much to the oppressive atmosphere and the story is strong. Well worth it for any sci-fi fans and even for those not into the genre.

Cliches like dystopian future spring to mind, but in this case it's true. This is a Big film, it paints its story on a big canvas, it hops from the surreal believability of Brazil (without the laffs) to the tight flight of any Jason Bourne chase sequence. Thriller, chiller, thought-provoking big brainer. Oh, and the perfect vehicle for hit-some miss-some Clive Owen. Still good in 2027.

The plot for this film is a bit sketchy but the cinematography more than makes up for it. Very much the style of 28 days later with fantastic action scenes shot in real time. Definitely one to watch!
