Great film with an excellent cast. Very unusual story about a writer and his twin brother, also trying to get into the writing game. Story explorers the failures and successes of both men, in a darkly humorous way.

Different but very good 35 out of 100
With various timelines going back and forward throughout this film and various interactions accross all of the characters this film could have been a mess. Instead, it's a very enjoyable thoughtful film. Recommended.

ADAPTATION - NOT UP TO MUCH 10 out of 100
Very disappointing in view of big name cast. Confusing 'plot ' if there is one. Slow and disjointed which lost its audience after first 35 minutes.

a good art house film 40 out of 100
I really liked this but its not for "blockbuster types" it's indie/ art house. It's well made with great acting and a great script. Put it this way, it’s not the best film of its type but its good and you need a brain to appreciate it

Excellent 50 out of 100
Superb film about the screen writing process, with the film changing as the writer character becomes more frustrated and compromised. As he finally gives in to hollywood style storytelling it spurs the third act into a glorious torrent of all the screen writing clichés he had been railing against all along.

Loved it! 50 out of 100
This is such an entertaining movie. I'm not usually a fan of Nicholas Cage but he is superb in this as the depressed loser writer and his own twin brother. Merly Streep is also brilliant. This was my 2nd time watching it and really enjoyed it again.

Entertaining 30 out of 100
Entertaining and somewhat funny story of a guy and his twin brother, both played by Cage. He is a writer in Hollywood and that's all I can say as the rest just has to be watched. It's narrative is far from standard and it's very much a story about a story in a story!

This movie has lots of big stars.. A story about stories.. Very slow movie that eventually takes an unusual twist. Interesting, but complicated. It won't be to everyones taste but I think its worth it in the end.. just about.

Very good 40 out of 100
This is a brilliant movie. If you liked John Malkovich then you'll love this. Very funny and off the wall. I'm not a Nicolas Cage fan at all... in fact I usually avoid watching movies with him in it, but this film is different. He suits the role for once.

Nick Cage and Meryl Streep were brilliant. This was a very good film, jumped backwards and forwards a bit but this did make it a bit more interesting. Great storyline

I found the concept behind the film really interesting, although it got a little bit lost in the last third. Chris Cooper is fantastic though! And Nic Cage manages to not be Nic Cage - good work!

This is a fantastic movie ,with a great plot of adventure but esentially about jealosy and family relationships.The main characters are two brothers ,scriptwriters -one talented and unsuccessful the other the reverse! Gripping ,sad ,tragic ,brilliant! Rent it now!

Nicholas Cage shows us he can still act. An excellent film with a brilliant script and cast. Its a damning endictment of Hollywood (if you want to see it that way) or a spoof of Hollywood film makers (if you don't).

It was awful... at least the first half hour to forty-five minutes of it, afterwhich I lost interest. Just very boring really. A dissapointment as I expected it to be good.
